The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency $1500 Replacement Program has officially ended as of 05/20/23. There is a possibility that this incentive or one similar will be offered again in the future. If any new promotions are available we will be sure to update you.

Residents of select Washington counties with old or uncertified wood-burning devices may qualify for the Puget Sound Wood Stove Program, offered under the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. Under this program, you may receive savings for replacing your eligible wood-burning device. Learn more about this program below.

$1,500 Replacement Discount

Qualifying residents can receive a $1,500 discount off of the purchase and professional installation of new heating equipment to replace their old wood stove or fireplace insert. This incentive program is designed to help Washington residents upgrade to new, cleaner heat. Old, uncertified stoves and inserts are inefficient and create pollution, which is why they’re no longer legal to sell, purchase, give away, or re-install anywhere in Washington state.

Replacement equipment under this program must meet certain efficiency and/or emissions requirements, and work must be done by a program-approved heating contractor. At Four Day Fireplace, we offer a range of clean-heating devices and professional installation to help you take advantage of this incentive program. Note that no wood stoves or inserts are allowed with this discount.

Qualifying replacement options include

  • Electric heat pump
  • Natural gas, propane, or oil furnace
  • Natural gas, propane, or pellet stove
  • Natural gas, propane, or pellet insert

To be eligible for the $1,500 Replacement Discount, you must have an installed and operable:

  • Uncertified or pre-2000 wood stove or fireplace insert
  • Free-standing manufactured fireplace
  • Wood-burning furnace
  • Residential coal-burning device

Enrollment Requirements

After enrolling in the program, applicants must submit several photos of their old wood stove or fireplace to be reviewed for eligibility.

Funding is limited; limit one project per household. The program is currently limited to homeowners or, in the case of rental homes, property owners.

After receiving an agency-issued coupon, $1,500 replacement discount participants will have 45 days to schedule their clean-heating project and old stove/insert removal with a program-approved contractor.

After the 45 days, replacement offers will be canceled and offered to other qualified applicants, unless program staff have been contacted and approved an extension.

Contact Four Day Fireplace today for a free consultation on replacement options for your old wood stove or fireplace.
